24 March 09 - Gruesome discovery - Mutilated Sheep Carcass

I found this mutilated sheep carcass near the Cauldstane Slap, which is part of the Pentland Hills to the west, and have written some thoughts on the matter, which are pure speculation admittedly. Warning: gruesome images of a mutilated sheep carcass.

29 March 08 - Site Update

I've updated all the gallery pages. Most have new and better photos added but I've also removed many of the old photos to tidy up the site and save bandwidth. In addition I've sorted out some of the navigation problems. The gallery pages now link back to the home page rather than opening in a new window. If you have any problems using the site or have suggestions for improvements please contact me using the email at the bottom of the page.

7 December 08 - North Berwick

North Berwick is a particularly scenic village some 25 miles east of Edinburgh. North Berwick Law is well worth climbing for views of the Forth and countryside. Unfortunately I didn't make it quite to the top on this particular occassion as it had been commanded by drunkenly aggressive youths but normally it's tranquil and not too strenuous a climb.

12 September 07 - Forth Bridges

I took three cameras to Queensferry to take photos of the Forth Bridges only to find that the Rail Bridge is being worked on and not in a particularly photogenic state. However, the Road Bridge and harbour still look nice. I picked up a Canon Powershot digicamera which is better quality than my other digital camera, though lower resolution, and has manual exposure control and other stuff. I also dusted off my Praktica film camera, which as you can see takes prettier photos but unfortunately has a broken winding mechanism so many photos didn't come out. I'll hopefully get it fixed to use for future updates.

08 August 07 - Newington Cemetery

Newington Cemetery is much spookier than the city centre ghost tours. The photos don't really capture the atmosphere but give an idea of the overgrown nature of the place. I wouldn't be brave enough to visit after dark.
